Emergency Department

The Denver Health Emergency Department is a state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive emergency care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team of highly skilled physicians, nurses, and support staff is dedicated to providing the highest quality of care to every patient who walks through our doors.

We understand that every second counts in an emergency, which is why we have implemented a streamlined triage process to ensure that patients are seen and treated as quickly as possible. Upon arrival, patients are assessed by a triage nurse who determines the severity of their condition and assigns them a triage level. Patients with the most critical injuries or illnesses are seen first, while those with less severe conditions are placed in a waiting area until a bed becomes available.

Advanced Medical Equipment and Technologies

The Denver Health Emergency Department is equipped with the latest medical equipment and technologies, including:

  • A state-of-the-art trauma bay with dedicated equipment for treating critically injured patients

Critical Care Unit

Denver Health’s Critical Care Unit is a state-of-the-art facility that provides comprehensive care to critically ill and injured patients. Trauma Center

The Denver Health Trauma Center is a Level I trauma center, the highest level of trauma care designation. This means that the center is equipped to handle the most severe and complex traumatic injuries.

The trauma team at Denver Health is composed of highly trained and experienced physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide immediate and comprehensive care to trauma patients.

Trauma Response

When a trauma patient arrives at Denver Health, they are immediately assessed by the trauma team. The team will perform a rapid physical examination and order any necessary tests, such as X-rays or CT scans.

Once the patient’s injuries have been assessed, the team will develop a treatment plan. The plan may include surgery, medication, or other therapies.

Collaboration with Other Emergency Services

The Denver Health Trauma Center works closely with other emergency services in the area, such as the fire department and the police department.
